Big Day

Kate turns 4...

I walked into kate's room one morning and this is the face I found...This is still my favorite picture.
kate tidbits
lOVES
At four kate loves barbies, princesses, swimming, riding her bike, playing endless games with her mommy and COLORING!!
quirks
She is my little prancer and always lets me know when brooke is doing something wrong. (Oldest child trait) Kate is also my little turtle. She takes her time to do EVERYTHING. The Lord knew I need to learn patience somehow..
food
She loves to eat yogurt, chocolate doughnuts, and rootbeer.
not so favorite
She does not like the "tickalish"- when her daddy cleans her teeth....ok lets be honest- fill her sugar bugs.
short story:
One day me and ezra we have a "discussion" and I was complaing about something he was NOT doing and Kate piped in and said. " mom you just have to forgive like Jesus". Shut me up.
quick thoughts:
I feel like I just had her..so cliche but I think this is why I love big families and why I want one. They grow so FAST and it is hardest thing anyone does but it is also the BEST. And plus I think I might miss the caous a little...
Ok so here is the three party run down
On sunday we celebrated Cason, Kate and Uncle Brendon's birthday. Kate got her "barbie" cake which her Aunt Jenni insisted that she have one.

Cason and Cooper going for Thomas..who needs bowls?

Last night we had a little party for ezra's family. Kate's favorite cake is this honey bun cake..ooh so yum..someday I will post the recipe..

The fabulous four cousins.

Grandma and Grandpa cheesing it up.
And then sadly this is the only picture of have of kate's party at the park. Yes once again Hayley forgets her camera. But it was fun. Cupcakes, pinata, loads of sugar. A kid couldn't ask for more. Instead of kids bringing kate a present I told everyone to bring a book and we had a book a exchange. The kids loved it! Everyone got a book to take home. And kate decorated these lovey cupcakes. I think they need a few more sprinkles....

Random snaps

My baby got "back". This is one of many ways we have rigged up to keep brookies diaper on...hmm...
Kate colored this picture with a #2 pencil. This 1 1/2hr. activity was as good a nap.
I came home from Young Womans one night and this is the sight I saw..Kate sleeps just like my sister Tricia, with her eyes half open..so creepy..but this picture is pretty darn cute.

The 10 Year

10 year high school reunion..Has it been that long? Needless to say I only have two other pictures...for some reason I always forget to pull out the camera! Here is a picture of Kim one of my best friends from high school. Oh and I want to give props to my mom..she got me this cute sweater jacket and finally I had somewhere to sport it...She has the best taste!

Mr. Ezra himself grew these little firecrackers and then canned them. They are candied Jalapenos. Only one Problem: hotter than a pistol..any takers?

Coastal Retreat (yea right)

Our family went to the Oregon Coast, Lincoln city. Vacations are a funny thing to me. I never grew up going on vacations. So going Vacations has never really been a big deal to me. They are great but quite frankly I would much rather buy a new piece of furniture. So when Ezra told me that he really wanted to go to the Coast I thought ok, that will be fun. We really don't travel that much so driving in the car for 6-9 hrs with the kids..lets just say that took some getting used too- for them and us. By the time we got there I wanted to pack up and head back. But then after we finally found a hotel..(hotel we booked told us when we got there that No kids are allowed..yea nice huh...) it turned out not to be too shabby of a weekend... It is a lot of work to pack up the kiddos and at times we wanted to pay someone to take our sweet little brooke! But we had some really fun times. Like all four us squeezing into a queen size bed or brooke trying to pretend she is asleep like kate and then trying to snore like kate as well. THat was funny.

Here are a few pics.

Ezra brought the whiffle balls and bat...he still loves playing that game.
Brooke would not keep her clothes on..she was always taking a v-line for the ocean...Hello!
Oh my gosh I got a family picture where my sweet husband is not sticking he tongue out.
WE did a little pit stop on our way home and saw some falls- We took a scenic route home and it ended up being a 9 hr. drive instead of a 6hr drive. By this time we were considering leaving the girls on the roof for the rest of the drive home. But we didn't have any rope.

Here is a picture of me and Ezra's first race..Don't be too impressed it was barley pushing a 5k, but it was called the RoDeo RUn..and so we go free to tickets to the fair. ANd YES Ezra is sticking his tongue out AGAIN...are we ever going to have a normal family picture? Oh and his little sister did the race with us too.

Brooke and Kate whet on a pony ride and tatar -tot their cousin is in the back ground with the all impressive traditional fair make-up.

And a random picture of Brooke holding on for dear life while cooper gives her a tour of his neighborhood.
