women past and present....

I am in Young Women's and this year's theme is "Be thou an example of the believer's, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12.

The past few days I have really been thinking about this and all the women in the scriptures who were believers. And I have realized how I need to be a Strong believer like these amazing women in the scriptures. I have felt strongly like the line in the sand has been drawn and I have to decide which side I am going to stand on. There really is no longer any gray and I certainly can't afford to be wishy washy. I look at my daughters and think...hayley is your example good enough for your girls to follow. many times the answer is no. But thank goodness for the amazing examples of women in my day to follow. I look at my mother, my sister's, sister in laws, grandmothers, amazing girlfriends and wow. They are wonderful example's of believers. I am truly fortunate.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Esther. maybe someday it will be hanging on my wall.....

Hayley,
You are more than a great example you go above and beyond your girls are truly blessed to have you as their Mom. growing up not having a sister and now i have 6 Awesome sisters (in-law) each have taught me so much by their example and a mother in law that runs circles around me and teaching such compassion I love you all and indeed I am so grateful for each.

Hayley, what a sweet post. I feel the same way when I look at my children and the day and age in which we face there definitely is NO grey and no exceptions to principles. Growing up I always wanted an older sister and even though I know Jenni and I drove you nuts (more so drove Shantae' nuts) you were kind of like that for me:) From letting me wear your clothes on Sundays when I came over, to giving Jenni and I something to try and search for in your room (notes), then in track when I was always soooo nervous for the hurdles etc., and then when Jenni and I came to visit you at Ricks. Thanks for being a good example and friend:) PS. I think I'm going to take the plunge can you give me the for sure name on that blue:)

Hayley you are always amazing and you do it without offending!! Young womens is a sure testimony builder, I think almost more for the leaders than the girls. I think we really start to understand how scary the world is and how hard it is to raise our children to be good people. I think there are so many issues we have to address now days!

THose are some great thoughts Hayley. I have had many of those same feelings lately and a sense of urgency too. I think you are an outstanding person and I see so much of your Mother's heart in you. Your girls are destined to be fabulous. They have great genes.
