Anyways hats of to you who can manage to come up with something interesting or participle in a festive Christmas activity for 24 DAYS in the month of December. And so I ask myself..are my kids getting the short end of stick. Should I making gumdrops and roasting chestnuts by the open fire?
But then as I was looking back at the little things we did to celebrate Christmas and I realized we do have some teeny tiny traditions, maybe not a lot but a few. And plus that takes a lot of pressure off for next year. So here they are. Just a few tradition sprinkles to lighten up our season. And I have to say honestly... the most fun my kids were just being able to be with all their cousins. Unplanned craziness but I loved every minute of it! and mom
I know you did too!!!!
Gingerbread houses. Ezra's mom always does gingerbread houses. I love it. They love it. Brooke's house collapsed twice. But Grandma Christian came to the rescue and stabilized it.
Ok this Tradition comes off my side of the family. It started about 4 years ago. My dad has a school bus that he uses to for the workers. Anyways My family fires up the bus with Christmas lights and we all go caroling to people on the farm. And anyone that wants to get on the bus can jump on for the ride! My brother's are pre-selling tickets for next year in JULY. You get a discount if you happen to have a decent set of pipes on you..or you can bring goodies and we will knock off a few bucks.
My mom and my sisters before we got on the bus.
THE BUS. WE almost had a tragedy at the beginning of our caroling adventure but our trusty bus driver was able to spins its wheels and pull us out of mud hole.
Girls on the bus.
Come on does this just not look like fun. I have to say this bus brought back a lot Memories. Good and just simply EMBARRASSING!!!
And Jennilyn only had one take down that night. I only got three still shots of it. You might be able to You-Tube it.
Now back at the shed for some chili and corn bread. OH what fun we had in an one horse Powered bus.
Don't worry. I still have more Christmas Frolics to come!

No way do your kids get the short end of the stick! Your girls are darling and it looks like holidays were great for you guys! I missed our Christmas party - haha!

Hayley how fun! I love the bus caroling idea, what a great family you have! Your girls are so cute and getting so big, I wish we lived close.
SOOO FUN! Those are going to make for great memories!
Haley, simple is better. I am there with you. We had some traditions, but you can put too much pressure on yourself if you look at everyone else. I try not to. I am all about the inexpensive store bought advent with a small piece of chocolate or candy to each day. I loved your traditions and they are what your kids will remember the most! Love the pics.
I'm with you Hayley, less is more, it is all about being with family and you have an amazing one. I'm so glad you all had such a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing, your posts and pics were great!
Hayley! You make me laugh! I loved all of your Christmas adventures! It makes me a little home sick to be honest! Sure love you guys!
